FAQ

No referral needed. HopeLand accepts self-referrals. You can schedule directly with us without a referral from your primary care doctor.

However, if you plan to use insurance, we recommend checking your plan's requirements first. Some insurance plans may require a referral for specialty mental health services.

Your first visit is called a psychiatric diagnostic evaluation. During this 60-90 minute session, your provider will:

  1. Review your medical and mental health history
  2. Discuss your current symptoms and concerns
  3. Ask about your goals for treatment
  4. Develop an initial treatment plan
  5. Answer any questions you have

This is also a chance for you to see if you feel comfortable with your provider. The therapeutic relationship is important, and we want you to feel heard and respected.

We understand that life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance.

Cancellation Policy:

  • 24+ hours notice: No fee

  • Less than 24 hours: $50 late cancellation fee

To cancel or reschedule: Call [Phone Number] or message us through the patient portal.
